This 17" OAL glove was developed with a large power company to help reduce lost time accidents occurred while training new lineworkers. The injury they needed to prevent against were splinters in the forearm caused when a beginning climber "cuts out" accidentally slipping and grabbing the pole. Most companies today are required to treat this common training accident as any other work-related lost time accident. Time will be lost for the employee to travel to a doctor for examination and removal of the splinter as well as any follow up visits. Between lost time and medical bills this accident could cost well over $ 500.00 per occurrence.Typically, supplying an entire training class with the proper gloves costs less than just one accident.
This extra long glove is designed to protect the climbers' forearm with an extra heavy leather reinforced cuff that extends to the elbow crotch. The cuff takes the splinters not the arm. The hand of this glove is our #148 medium weight BUCKSKIN "LINEMANS" glove. Other styles are available, contact us with your specifications for pricing and availability.
